I had my fenders Line-X'ed. 1st time, lines got crossed and fender color match got misinterpreted to mean body match and this was the result

Initially I didn't care for it but between the time I took delivery and my next appointment to get it fixed...about a week, it kinda start d to grow on me.

Friends, family, coworkers were abt 50/50.

Can't color match Line-X in my state (EPA regs apparently) so it's black or black.

I much prefer the contrast. Eventually front/rear bumper are gonna get swapped out so pretty much everything is going to be AG, or black.

I'm confused. First you said that they color matched the flares when you didn't want them to, then you say that they can't color match Line-x in your state. Which is it?

BTW...whoever told they aren't allowed to color match is full of crap. Color matching is just a pigment added to the Line-x and has no effect on it's EPA impact. Every Line-x dealer can color match, some simply choose not to because of cost.

Originally I wanted them color matched to the OEM Magnetic gray color. That got misinterpreted to body color, e.g. AG. That was in TN, where I took delivery.

I didn't have the time to burn more days in TN to have it corrected, so I got it worked out to have it corrected in by MD Line-X.

As for color matching in MD, I don't know what to tell you except that's what was passed on to me. Either way, I'm good with black since the front and rear bumpers are going to get switched out and those are pretty much all black anyway.

Make sense now?

BTW: just for ***** and giggles, I called some of the other MD Line-X shops in the area and you're absolutely correct...I was lied to. No such reg. in MD.

Thank gawd, they did a great job with black, but they're still lying POS.

Well to my eyes that body color so called "color match" is way off. Glad you got it resolved and in this case it certainly looks better black than the wrong color.

Agreed, but according to the paint code, it's AG. And like the body color, it matches in some light and looks totally mismatched in other light.

But yeah, I'm glad it's black again.

Sorry OP, my intent wasn't to high jack the thread, just wanted to give a Line-X example of contrast vs matching for another perspective.

Purely personal preference either way.
