Why do you think you got such a good deal on the truck?

We all got little bumps and bruises from the factory, if it drives you crazy have it fixed...maybe one of those city folks dinged your car in a parking lot...

Or maybe it was you when you test drove it for me!!!! :signs8:

don't do it if they spot repair it will never look the same, metallic's are hard to match and clearcoats have different color hue, even factory colors don't match from batch to batch,
they will blend the color then clearcoat 1/4 of the truck around the repair then sand and buff to replicate factory orange peel, with time they will fade at different rate because of different they are products ,
also it might show on your carfax it was in the bodyshop for repairs and ruin your resale value.

just buy a used panel sometime in the future

I guess a repaint of the WHOLE truck is not going to happen, even if warranty would step in?

To me that would be the only way to get it right? Is that correct?

Let us know what John says...I know their other dealer in South Richmond has a great body shop....

My guess is you will get a T-shirt and a hat...

Why Does It Happen In The First Place

I'm pretty happy (lucky) with the paint job on my 2012 Race Red Raptor but I do recall the factory paint on my 2004 Lariat having issues...almost looked like it sagged in areas.

Can someone familiar with Ford factory paint systems explain how we run into so many problems with paint? Aren't these high tech robotic systems? Isn't there quality control inspections? My god...I see better paint jobs on $15,000.00 cars than I do on these trucks. I can't believe Ford hasn't invested in the most advanced systems available. Seems to be a "penny wise and a pound foolish" if they didn't.
