The hunt is half the fun.

Not if it’s a snipe hunt!

Remember when the older scouts sent you looking for the smoke shifter? or your dad / first boss or whatever sent you looking for the romex bender?

That’s kind of what the “order a Raptor” process is like now.
One sure way to kill a ‘brand' like the Raptor is what Ford is doing now.

So you are thinking if you do get the email from ford (I did), that I am guaranteed to get a truck? The one thing I’ve always been nervous about is the allocation thing and dealers telling people they’ll have one.
I would think so. Probably just waiting allocation. Call your dealer to verify. I prefer a spring or summer built truck. I'm in no hurry. I could care less even if its a 2023.

I would prefer a summer truck as well since I have to drive it home from Minnesota

If your dealer used the covp program your ahead of the game, if not, back of the line.

Verified orders will receive priority scheduling and will receive incremental allocation

SUMMARY
Dealers will be able to utilize the existing COVP website on https://cni.dealerconnection.com to register retail orders for all vehicle lines (excluding Mach-E, Bronco and specialty units). Verified orders will receive priority scheduling and will receive incremental allocation. Vehicles that are not verified will still be scheduled but will schedule within the dealer’s earned allocation.
Note that while this program utilizes the same process as the Retail Order Incentive, only previously communicated vehicle lines are eligible for the incentive. Please check SmartVINCENT for incentive eligibility.

Order two more just to play it safe...just a suggestion.

I think I'm done with the Raptor hunt if I have to order another one. I visited or called about 40 dealerships and did everything in my power to get this deal done. I have three or four dealerships I'm connected to, if it was through one of them I would consider it. They just don't have the allocations right now.

Do you have a DORA from either dealer?

I have order sheets from both. Going to call Ford Performance on Monday. Just hard to believe both dealers botched my email. Neither would take a deposit either, but I'll worry about that down road. To be clear, I'm not mad I don't have a truck. I am content waiting as long as they have an allocation and I'm in line to be built.

In early November after a ton of research on this forum, I ordered a Raptor at two different stealerships here in Texas. I ordered a lowly 800a with no bedliner and auto stop/start delete. I was sure to ask the dealers if they had an allocation, and both checked and got back with me in a day or so and said they did. Here I am in January, and have never even got an email from ford. No thanks for the order, no Vin, nothing. Have been in contact with the dealers and they have nothing for me. This system is complete insanity considering Fords size and brand. Anyone in a similar spot?
Most of us have waited around 8 months until delivery. Good luck.

I ordered a 22 (just in case this 21 never arrives) in late Oct. It’s a 37 pp but haven’t gotten anything. Dealer is good and they said ball is in Fords court and they have an allocation they just aren’t scheduling 37s. I think it’s a total gamble.
Looks like some 37s were scheduled this week if you go by what‘s being posted.
