Ordered a 2014 at invoice... but my buddy is offering 2010 for cheap

What do you guys think would be a fair deal on a Tuxedo Black 2010 5.4L with 20k miles? The truck looks brand new other than the running boards fading. Super clean and really no evidence of abuse... but it also misses that sexy 6.2L and the new refinements of the later models.

Since its the end of the month, my buddy who works at the dealership is pretty sure they can knock the $39,900 price down to $34,000

I placed an order with a local dealership for a base 2014 Terrain with a spray in liner at invoice - $42,665

What would you guys do? should I shoot for 33k and call it good?

No. Go for the 2014. If you're financing, you will get a lower rate on a new car loan vs. used. Also, $34,000 is still a bit steep for a soon to be 5 year old model with the 5.4L.

Trust me, I had a 2010 Tuxedo Black 5.4L and while I loved that truck, my 2013 6.2 is a much more refined beast and a hell of a lot more fun to drive. And honestly, IIRC depending on the season I got 12.8-13.2 MPG with the 5.4 and I get 11.8-12.0 MPG with the 6.2.

plus, i need to put my evo x back to stock for the trade in... which will remove a good 6k of parts that I can probably sell for 3k... and i need to repair the stupid acd pump that just went out from this cold weather BS

and thats not a huge difference at all. From what I've been researching, the 6.2 has a lot of neat tech and the 5.4 is a much older engine, and the 6.2 does better with longevity.

Do you have a screw now or scab? I know that makes a difference in mpg but I'm not really concerned with mpg lol

I have a scab, and obviously the 2010 was a scab. I'm not light on the pedal and do a lot of back road driving too.
