You have nothing to lose by trying, and you could potentially make life a little uncomfortable for those involved. Do you have a trail indicating that you submitted paperwork with the understanding of msrp ? and then suddenly a $15k mark up? If so, it sounds like it fits the deceptive practices definition. It doesn’t look that difficult to use.

"Before filing a lawsuit, the consumer must first send a registered or certified letter to the seller advising of the situation. The letter must be specific in that it must advise the seller of the complaint and the amount of damages the consumer is seeking. If the consumer does not receive resolution within 60 days of receipt of the letter, the consumer can then proceed with filing a lawsuit."

Note that it doesn’t say anything about them having to receive or read the letter, just that you send it and have proof. I have direct experience with a very similar larceny provision in another state. Shady guy used some address he never checked to prevent being tracked down. Unfortunately, that didn’t matter, and it all worked out properly.

Now, the stealership probably will get it, review it and send it to legal to get a response. Were I an aggrieved potential buyer, I would make it my intention to sue for $15k + reasonable legal fees + the difference between MSRP and invoice on the truck + dealer hold back, right down to the penny.

Now, more than likely they aren’t going that far, but, the potential for bad publicity and having to spend time in court - ( you too can get continuances, thus tying up their lawyer too ). They may just back off ADM and some token money.

I think lots of owners/GM's are going to be taking the 37 packages, probably why so many are saying theres no allocations for 37.

Wouldn't doubt it. When I bought my 2019 I found a dealer in Michigan whose standard practice was to drive every new Raptor as his personal DD for 2500 miles and then sell it as "new"...with 2500 miles. I hard passed.

Went through all the process at a local DFW dealer which indicated they'd be selling at MSRP for being local and all that BS - used their own Custom Order link and got told they'd be hearing back from Ford once accepted. Lo and behold, I get a call today stating "Dealer Mgmt. pushed a message today that all Raptors will be selling +15K over MSRP, sorry for the mix up, all new cars will continue to sell at MSRP, except the Raptor"...of course that threw me off since I was at the very top of the list when bank orders opened.

Now I'm waiting on another dealer to try and squeeze +1 allocation...highly doubt it but got nothing to lose, since this new dude promised that his dealership WILL NOT practice that ADM crap (his very own words)...

So guys, to all of you who got told they won't sell over MSRP, you might wanna double check...and if you do get MSRP, kudos to you all.
Yup.

I confirmed with a dealer saleswoman 3 times that I was getting a 37, today I was told I am out. I was going to drive 1k miles to pick it up. 2 other dealers told me they had allocations but wouldn't do the deal over the phone. Dealing with Ford salespeople absolutely sucks and maybe this is all for the best. We don't even have confirmed specs on the truck.

This is exactly right. Never in my life would I have thought I would be excited to pay MSRP. Then I decided I wanted this Raptor. It is all relative.

I not knocking those who are paying MSRP. I imagine if the time was right, I would be doing the same thing. Then again, I haven't let the cost really sink into my brain just yet. Since I could probably get $60k for my Gen 2 (what I bought it for) that means I'm paying about $25k if I can get MSRP for a marginal upgrade. I just bought my daughter a '20 Mustang for $25k.

You can't stop people from paying ADM because some people have more money than brains. Like that guy on here bragging about how he can write a check for a Ferrari. Do you think he is going blink at $15K over?

Yep, and honestly, if I had million in the bank I wouldn't blink either. Nah, that's not true. I'd just keep my Raptor and retire.

Ever notice how dealerships love to mislead you by giving you the impression that there is this adversarial relationship with shotty communication between salesman and GM, then GM and Ford. Saleman was told he could sell at MSRP, but GM is the bad guy who changed his mind. Or Ford told them wrong. Always giving you the impression that your sales guy is on your side, but he can't do it for you. I'm sure the sale guy is making plenty of commission off the ADM part of the sale.

GM and salesman both snort a line of coke off a strippers ass together while laughing about getting all these suckers to pay ADM.
