Some of the questions I want answered did they improve on the intercooler? If they didn’t that means all that aftermarket stuff is BS did they upped the horsepower and torque substantially? If they didn’t that means it isn’t reliable past what they are using or want to use for their warranties, also some of their competition in the Off Road market like Jeep-Ram have upped their game considerably, TRX,702hp, Jeep Trackhawk 702hp rubicon,475hp And don’t think for one minute A upgraded TRX isn’t coming after all the feedback their getting. I am a three time Raptor owner because there has been nothing like it until now!

I have some dealers contacting me saying they can place the orders now, but Ford wont start scheduling the build out until 6/10. Are others able to place their orders and get a DORA? or does this just mean you can write down on a piece of paper what you want to order, and they will actually submit it to Ford 6/10?

I’m getting calls now from a few dealers as well. Still telling me they can’t take orders but will be able to soon. Seems like something is brewing.

Maybe the dealers are anticipating order banks opening simultaneously with the launch of the configurator on May 10?

But isn't it irrelevant whether it's tomorrow or June 30, given that Ford's official order guide states production won't start until at least July 6?

I think honestly Ford has done no worse than most companies in this once in a lifetime bizarre world event we have on our hands, but if I was running things I’d personally just be more open and honest to say...wow guys it’s been a hell of a thing and we pushing the raptor to 2022 sorry for the disappointment. But promise it’s worth the wait...done. Mature response to things beyond their control and if someone doesn’t like going through Starbucks without a Gen3 then they can go overpay for a Gen2 or pull your head out of your arse and get a Gen1

The problem with waiting till 22 is that they have the design ready to go, the TRX and others are out there for sale, and they are going to sell every Raptor they make this year regardless of how much complaining goes on in Truck forums. That's not saying some of the complaining isn't legit, just that it's not going to hurt Ford. Hopefully, they make a few changes next year, but those who don't want to wait won't have to.

The best part about it is there’s competition now so Ford‘s gonna have to negotiate on the price just like Ram is doing now it’s going to be much better for us in the long run

In normal times, I'd agree with you. These are not normal times.

Prices are out of control, and people want to spend, spend, spend.

I wonder what the upper limit is, and I wonder if the Raptor (especially R) and TRX will even really "compete" in a sense.

The real question is: how many folks who have/will buy a TRX over the next year, would have been Raptor/Raptor R buyers, and will they eat the costs of paying dealer fees/sales tax twice in two years to switch?

Asked another way: how many would-be customers will Ford lose to the TRX, and will it even matter? We won't know in 2021.

I just talked to my dealer here in AZ that is a close friend and he said Ford hasn’t said a word other than they hinted that the online configuration would be up early may. I’m one of the first in the list and he couldn’t even tell me when he could order me a truck other than he could “build one” on paper with the packages that were released last week
He even mentioned that the possibility of all raptors this year would be tagged as MY 2022. Take that info with a grain of salt like everything on here, but he’s been extremely reliable in the past

At this point, almost half way through the year, the initial builds will get here in the Fall at the earliest, these should be tagged MY2022.
