As far as waiting for the '24s come out, it's unlikely there will be any significant changes, other than paint colors. The vehicles are selling well, and Ford has plenty of other irons in the fire to deal with. There's a chance that prices could drop a bit, but that would likely come with resale value of your Gen 2, so not a big advantage there.

I agree. I doubt there will a refresh anytime soon. Not many of the new 21+ f150's on the road as it is, because of the backlog. Doesnt make sense to do a refresh when most people havent even seen the current design in person yet.

It’s worth the $20k upgrade only if you do serious off road driving. Otherwise, it’s a luxury to upgrade. Completely, a personal choice. Do it if you have the money to spend.

I had a 19 Gen 2...UPGRADED (cuz that's what it is) to the Gen 3. I've told others this same thing...Everything about the Gen 3 is better (IMO). The looks, grille, front, fender flares, intererior/exterior, ride, shifting, suspension, etc, etc, etc. Definitely worth the move.

I have been thinking about the same thing lately, but am in a ‘20 with low miles so no rush. While I still like the Gen 2 better aesthetically, the Gen 3 is growing on me and do think it’s a worthwhile upgrade.

With that said there’s no way I’d spend over msrp for one, and ideally wouldn’t even want to pay that.

Good evening…. Looking for some opinions…

I currently have a loaded 19 Raptor - every option except Carbon. Really like the truck - the look and the utility. Just passed 20k miles. I just placed an order for a 23 - which I’m told will take 9 months.

-Is the 23 a meaningful enough upgrade to justify a ~20k price difference?
-Are there more changes coming for a 24 I should wait for instead?
-Dumb Question, I know…but thoughts on waiting for something(?) electric? I’d ideally love an electric Raptor, the Cybertruck and Rivian don’t really appeal to me brand-wise. I do love cars with sound, from videos Ive seen the Gen 3 is much improved.
-I would like the big screen, nicer materials, wireless charging.
-19 almost paid off…

Other vehicles are a Range Rover and 911, so I do have alternatives as needed…
Your alternative options don't seem to jive, let alone be in the same category, as a Raptor. Think about this..... your choices consist of a beast of a pickup truck, an LA soccer Mom's SUV and the fastest casket on wheels. Quite the difference in lifestyles, no?

I don’t think he’s cross shopping, I think he means he also has those vehicles to drive.

That's also the way I read it. I loved my 18, but my 21 is better in pretty much every way. Lots and lots of little things that are better along with some of the bigger changes (rear suspension, exhaust note, shifting, etc).

I had a 19, I don’t miss the very choppy/ skidish ride over washboard roads and the persistent rear suspension squeak. The 21/22 is a huge upgrade.

It comes down to your finances! Can you afford the $20,000 or would you rather have a paid off truck? Who know if your order will even come in the way it has been with Ford's production. There will always be something new that come up that will tease and tempt you to have. Best thing to do is wait and see if the truck actually comes thru then make your decision.
