I have been getting measurably better mileage since I moved from Alabama to Nevada. When the truck was new in Alabama, I got about 15.5 in town and about 16.5 on the highway at 65 mph. Then for reasons I haven't been able to fathom, I started having trouble getting more 15 mpg in town. Now that I live in Nevada at nearly 6,000 feet in altitude I'm back to getting 16 mph. I'm thinking that the change in the gasoline formulation in the mountain states agrees with the truck.

Higher altitude the leaner it will run. Same with higher octain, just watch that it dosn't get to lean with out changing injectors. You'll be fine

I think it has to do with jet size. I'm not schooled enough on this subject I just know I've been using e-30 at 29000 about sea leavel. And have never had trouble with it.

Uh, 29,000 feet above sea level? Can't be. Mount Everest is 29,029 feet above sea level. You may be a good off-roader, my friend Wilson, but NOBODY is that good!
