On my brain
I'm running 5star on mine. The key to getting the best mpg with the 93 Performance tune is to shift manually into 6th, otherwise it holds 5th gear too long. Leaving it in Auto is great for playing on the street, but most of the time, I'm just commuting and appreciate the added mpg.

Yep. That's what I mean. It's fun since youre on better powerband performance wise and it will pull better when you get on it from just coasting. When you want a more ralaxed driving on traffic the extra up and down shifting could make you aware of it a bit too much sometimes.

Trip to TN

I just finished a 1,300 mile trip to TN and back. I averaged 15.7mpg for the trip, with 16.1 mpg for a part of it. Once I got into the mountains the mpg dropped a bit. Oh, but that is driving conservatively, only about 1 to 5 mph over the speed limit.

I asked Chris if it was possible to get a performance tune with a less aggressive shifting strategy. He said it was, so that's what I ordered. Haven't received it yet but will try both to see which one I like better.

That could be a good compromise.

With mine, in the Performance Tune, 1st thru 4th gear is perfect. I'd just like the 4-5 and 5-6 shifts to be a lower RPM shift (unless I'm towing). Afterall, most of my "performance" running is going to be done within the first few gears changes anyway, so I really don't need 5th gear holding to 2+k RPMs before shifting into 6th.

Regardless of my personal preference, I can't say enough about the 5star Tune. It's definitely worth having!

Got mine today loaded up with six tunes. 87 Eco/Perf/Perf-Soft and 93 Eco/Perf/Perf-soft. Dying to try them out and see the difference. Yay!

I ran my tank dry and refilled with 87 octane in anticipation of doing the tune. I wanted to get a good baseline. Imagine my surprise when I'm halfway thru and doing 12.1mpg. Better than my 11.5mpg with 97! I'm confused. It could be the gas, since last time I tried this I was running Racetrac (non top tier) and I have since done a Techron treatment and run Exxon gas (top tier) only. But I was getting 11.5 with Exxon gas, so I'm confused. I'm gonna run a couple more tankfuls while I get an AC problem fixed by the dealer before I tune.
