I got a Smittybilt 5.56 CFM - 2781. Look up some videos on it. It can inflate 35's very quickly, quiet and a decent price. I got mine for $137 on sale.

I mainly went with this unit over the Viar or the ARB because of price since I wont be using it often but wanted something decent.

So the Viair 400p looks great. Does it include everything you need for around $200, or am I missing something ?

There is zero installation, correct ? Appears to be portable

I have the Viair 400P and it works well but not 100% duty cycle like the 450P. I had an emergency with one of my dogs while off road and had to air up to race to the Vet. It took 15min to get all tires from 26PSI to 38PSI. I was terrified that the compressor would overheat and it was killing me thinking that my dog might die because I wanted to save a few bucks. I don't think this is a common situation though...having to drive 2.5hrs at 85mph to get to the nearest vet...if it was closer I might not have aired up at all.

Plenty of threads on compressors, but thought I'd come in here too. I had the ARB twin compressor mounted under the rear passenger seat with the BajaMod bracket and it was perfect. Would totally do the exact same way again.

Absolutely. I found this out the hard way as well.

I always carry a noco genius jump box for a reason. it happens to everyone.

I know I'm in the minority on this forum, but CO2 is such a no-brainer to me. It is so much simpler, equivalent to mounting a fire extinguisher. A 10lb tank can fill all four of my 37" tires from 20 to 45lbs 4 times. It is definitely faster than anything other than @The Car Stereo Company 's overkill setup. It has enough pressure to run pneumatic tools if you want. It is easy to help a buddy out if they need air. It doesn't take up more bed space than a fire extinguisher and can be removed when not in use. The only obvious downside is every 4 times I use it I have to drive to a welding supply store and swap out tanks.

If anyone does read this that goes with CO2, it is worth getting an actual PowerTank Inflator. Turning the pressure all the way up on CO2 will blow out cheap inflators as it can easily hit 300+psi.

I have the power tank system because it is portable and fill up the tires super fast. The only down side is you might run out of air if you had to fill more then 4 tires. I use it once to fill my tires, after they are all filled there were about 1/2 tank of air left, the downside is then you have to find a place to fill the tank back up before your next trip. It works for me because I don't air down my tires too often at all.

Thanks for chiming I’m here. I’m leaning more towards Co2 as I mentioned in a previous post. I think for my needs it’s the way to go. I’m gonna DIY a tank - a coworker brews beer and suggested a brewer supply for a tank and Co2 refills.
