Highly recommend getting a catch can whether it be JLT (what I’ve got) or another brand. Just changed my oil (Amsoil Signature 5w-30 with K&N filter HP-2011) just less than 5,000 miles since last oil change. Had about 2-3 tablespoons of oil in it. Also installed colder Motorcraft SP-542 spark plugs. I’ve not driven it yet but, at idle in my garage it seems to idle smoother and throttle response seems quicker. ‍♂️

Pay attention to the lack of a dual valve on the JLT. IT MATTERS!!! It's silly to do it half way. The can won't catch anything when under boost if you aren't using a dual valve can. Do some research into it if you don't believe me. Instead of basing your decision strictly on reviews try doing some research into the technology as well. You'll find that a dual valve is superior due to it working under boost as well as normal acceleration. After that using reviews makes sense. JLT is a fine can just inferior technology as it only catches undernormal acceleration and does nothing for you when you need it most...under boost!!

I don’t doubt you. Seems like you know more than I do. My motor is pretty new (2600 miles) so we’ll see how much it catches. I chose the JLT because of the reviews, price and I’m not OCD about having the absolute best since our trucks have port injection. I’ll continue to report what it catches. Can’t wait to see how the mishimoto performs.

It's not about port injection. I agree they did us favor by adding that for the valve coking. It's more about preserving fuel quality. Under boost you will still be burning oil infused air. Not a big deal but seems like if your doing it why not do it right?

Yea I get that and I may be willing to spend the money to buy a better system. I’m in Texas where we have 93 octane, which is all I put in mine; I don’t worry about pre ignition but I get your point and it’s valid. What will make me spend the money to upgrade is seeing real results from a claimed better system. So what are you running in yours and what kind of results are you seeing?

I just installed the UPR Dual Valve plug & play yesterday, went pretty smooth and I also installed the extended hose and a shut off down into the wheel well for easier emptying. I like the location under the factory CIA. It does require trimming the Sound deadening engine cover.

Feel free to post a pic of the system installed!

Well...It's not a "claimed" better system it's just simple fact. Especially in a turbocharged vehicle you need a dual valve...not a dual catch can but a dual valve. You need to seriously do some research. It amazes me how ignorant people are on the subject given how much information there is out there. I am not meaning to poke at you just unscoring that I'm not giving you an opinion but rather regurgitating facts from reputable sources and the facts of how physics work from a pressure/ventilation standpoint. Under boost especially you need to create more vacuum than is possible with a single valve system. People that don't understand the difference between a single valve and dual valve catch can system should do some research and educate themselves. It really is quite interesting and you can only gain from the knowledge.

These boards are so full of half truths, mis informed opinions and straight up gossip that it's sometimes hard to make your way through it.

Here's a starting point
