I'll have to read it again, but I thought the 7500 was for synthetic oil. Yes, you can set the mileage on the computer. It's been a couple years since I looked at it but I think it reads in %, like 100%, 80%.... and that corresponds with miles.

Oh gotcha, that makes sense if you can set the percentage. I always thought it was 5k too because a previous dealer always put the sticker in the windshield for 5k. Going to a new dealer and they put the sticker at 7500. I complained and told them to change the sticker out and told them the raptor is 5k, acting like I knew what I was talking about. I felt pretty darn stupid when I pulled the manual on them and then found out that they were right. A humbling experience picking your balls off the ground when they look at you with that grin. Its cool though, they put 5k on the sticker when I tell them and they don't think otherwise. This is using the recommended Ford synthetic blend oil BTW.

How it's calculated ...
Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor™

Your vehicle is equipped with an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor™ that determines when the engine oil needs to be changed based on how your vehicle is used. By using several important factors in its calculations, the monitor helps reduce the cost of owning your vehicle and reduce environmental waste at the same time. This means you won’t have to remember to change the oil on a mileage-based schedule; the vehicle lets you know when an oil change is due by displaying OIL CHANGE REQUIRED in the message center. The following table is intended to provide examples of vehicle use and its impact on engine oil change intervals; it is provided as a guideline only. Actual engine oil change intervals depend on several factors and generally decrease with severity
of use.

I looked this up once. The 6.2L does NOT have the Intelligent Oil Life system. The 5.0L does as I had that one previously. The 6.2L, goes off miles only unless you can prove me otherwise.
