Yeah I was disappointed that they didn't show the Purolator PureOne as well. I like the Mobil 1 / K&N filters too. They tend to have the highest multi-pass efficiency rating for a 30 micron particle. Of course I don't know that there is any way to compare them without sending off a sample for actual oil analysis. It does give you a good idea of build quality though.

It is probably because Purolator is the one who makes the Motorcraft filter, well according to the internet (and we all know how reliable that is). The only difference from everything I have read is the filter media in the PureOne has a better micron rating.

Not to hijack thread but has anyone looked into a larger oil filter since we are discussing oil filters? There appears that there is room for a longer filter. I use a longer (larger capacity) filter on my Jeep 4.0L instead of the dinky stock one.

Just FYI, there is no other oil filter on the market that offers better filtration than the AMSOIL EA Oil filters. Period. With an efficiency rating of 98.7% at 20 microns, no other filter out there comes close. That is probably why they didn't use it in the comparison. AMSOIL's EA oil filters are made by Donaldson filter corporation using their exclusive nanofiber technology, the same type of fiber technology as their powercore air filters. They are also 25K mile interval oil filters (rated by Donaldson and AMSOIL) They are not the cheapest filter on the market, that is true, but for the absolute best protection? Yeah, my money is on the AMSOIL filters.

Napa makes a good filter as well. Usually just go with the manufacture's filters, myself. I have seen a few oil filter cutaways in person, while at auto diesel college.

Matters not to me, just never buy a Fram oil filter unless you trust cardboard to do your filtering. Think that's why they showed us the filter cutaways.

The Ford Racing one has a higher burst rate. It's meant for competition.
And it's quite a bit heavier too.
If you go to Ford racing's website they have the double size but when I went to the dealer there wasn't any info if they will fit a 6.2

Anyway this is how I'm rolling

Filters with discount were $16.90 each plus Tax at dealer.
Oil $9.99 a quart, they do go on sale from time to time at Pep Boys
And I bought 8 quarts use 7 1/4 next oil change in 5000 miles maybe if I get OT, sooner. LOL
