I just spoke to a friend who was hanging out with a ford service manager. He was talking all kinds of crap how the 3.5 use 1 qt every 1000 miles. Saying it’s not a good motor. I see there’s a TSB for the 2017-2019. Did they do something different in 2020? I’ll keep and eye out on mine, but was wondering. Thanks

I found the factory fill to be at the lower end on the dipstick. I didn’t check it when I took delivery. I topped it up.

It was burning/losing factory oil for the first 5k miles. After the first change, I really haven’t seen any loss. I’m currently running Amsoil SS.

Service advisor sees all the problems and automatically assumes that all the 3.5EB are *****.

Yes, this is an ecoboost issue. The oil consumption is a problem with the valve covers. Actual TSB handles this.

Not an "EcoBoost" issue sasquatch. It was a supplier valve cover issue that only affected a limited population of vehicles and is easily remedied with valve cover replacement. You act as if the engine design is at fault; you post quite a lot in the Gen 2 forum considering you don't own one nor know anything about them.
