oil change question

im using Mobil 1 synthetic and motorcraft 820s oil filter. I will dab some oil on the rubber gasket but not fill it with oil since it does install horizontally

To add to whatever one else says ... I always put oil on the filter threads too. Probably doesn't matter but since the gasket is getting it might as well lube up the threads while your there. Ol' man taught me that and it stuck.
