I just bought the bracket after getting 2 tix while parked in the last 2 weeks. It's only $25 but at this pace it's getting annoying. I would rather spend money in gas or mods rather than donating it to the city of Santa Monica. Fu@k them.
Would be great to see a pic of your modified mount, if you ever find it. I'll install the mount next week and take the plate off when off-roading

Okay so here is my excerpt from the last time I was asked about what I did and the links to the other threads.(below the line)
Bear in mind the main reason I lowered my plate was so that I could put an onx6 light in there without having to remove my plate... Just using the sto-n-sho mount on its own would work fine for a front plate Mount.
As stated it's not exactly pretty, but it works and you can't see it unless you get low. I've also been seriously contemplating LineX my front skid plate so having everything be black under there would hide it even better!

I made a "makeshift" fatter bracket; painted the whole thing to match the skid; can't see it unless you get on your knees to look for it.
One thing I did do after the fact, was push the Sto-N-Sho plate bracket "past" the locking mechanism (it still is locked if you were to pull it forward), and painted the bracket to match the skidplate.
That way I let the plate rest against the bumper which IMHO tightens up the look a bit (I put one of those felt thingys that sticks to the bottom of a chair to protect the floor, to cushion the back of the plate against the bumper-you cant see that either)
My original post about it is below thread, post #370

Hope this helps!
