No hill decent no go pedal. I agree it was either holding a gear or down shifting when I reached the top. Either way, coast loading the gears isnt a good idea unless they were designed for it.

I have noticed in offroad mode if you tap the brake going down hill it wants to downshift to hold the gear and provide an engine brake. The way out of this is to tap on the throttle and it will up shift.

I personally like the features and shift points of offroad mode. I have ran both the 5 star and the SVC tune with this. The 5 star shift points are really close to the same as the default offroad mode. He told me once that the tune did not effect offroad mode. As for the SVC tune I really prefer it's on road capabilities and feel but I turn on offroad mode when I am offroad and am pushing my truck hard.

This past weekend, myself and one other Raptor, had off road mode on, traction control off, and both wererunning 5 Star performance tune. Both trucks throw codes after wot. Not happy at all. Anyone else have any issues with this set up?

Been running that way for a couple years Joker.

Well, you know, when offroad.

Ok, never any issues?

Just to be clear:

-5 Star Performance tune
-offroad mode: on
-traction control: off

When accelerating the truck had a sudden loss of power and the "wrench" symbol appeared on the DIC. This happened 4 times before I went back to the stock tune.

I thought it might be a dirty filter/lack of air, but it didn't happen once I went back to stock. Also, this happened to one other driver running this same set up.

This is the first time I've run with the performance tune, and first time I've had any codes. I will check today to see if I can read a code. I'm not thrilled about having to return to stock to pass the state inspection. Other tuners don't shut off the sensors and work fine.

Ran 4 laps on the short course at Raptoberfest on 87 performance tune, seemed okay but have nothing to compare to unless I put it back to stock and do it again. It ran fine, no codes thrown.....yet

@5star

I have had that issue before. No issues on my last trip though. I thought it was just a fluke.

Maybe I will get used to it but at the moment I am not a fan. If I want the engine brake on when going downhill, I would turn on the hill decent control. I don't remember this happening with stock tune but I will have to experiment next time I am up there.

It may have been holding a low gear? Off-road mode keeps you in the lower range with higher RPMs.

I Had my truck do the same thing with my 5 star tune in off road mode and TC off, but only with the 89 tow tune. I switched to the tune because the shifts on the 93 perf tune were to hard. When it was on 93 I never had any trouble. I think now I have it on 89 performance and have not had a problem with off road mode.

I also also do enjoy off road mode
