I just did my first Raptor run with the ROC and also my first time really using my Ipad mimi with Leadnav. The more I use my Leadnav the more I like it...my Ipad has the internal GPS chip and seem fast enough for what we were doing...
Whatever GPS you use make sure it imports .GPX files that are a standardized file for many (but not all) GPS units.

then you're driving too slow.

In all seriousness, leadnav and mobarmor recommend getting a 4g capable ipad, even if you do not hook the cell service up due to the better GPS radio. If you go with a wifi only ipad, you'll appreciate the benefits that one of the xgps160s provide with it.

for any run that you actually want sat imagery on your gps, leadnav is way easier than loading sat images to a lowrance.
