Would tent camping be a bad idea with these gusty winds?? I can sleep in my truck but still bringing the tent just in case.

I don't think the winds are supposed to be as strong this go around. Weather forecast says 10mph. And no rain in the forecast means less wind.

its fine if you have a quality 3 season/4 season tent from a good manufacturer (hilleberg, rei, big agnes, nemo etc)

if you have a poverty tent from coleman its best to camp in your truck

I'm not a metrologist but it seems the wind picks up in the desert more on cooling trends. It looks like it will be warming from today thru Sunday. We were wiped out last Sat when we went from high 80s to low 70s on Sunday. Yesterday was absolutely perfect and I expect good tenting weather.
