Yeah, it's too bad - I wanted to put a few rounds through the AK. :biggun:

We had and AR and AK out there. They just checked for clip release button, and steel core ammo. Guess it's a fire hazard.

Yeah, only mags I have are 30 though.

My buddy had one as well when asked he said it was limited to only hold ten, they quickly moved on. But like others have said there may be some more remote places to unload a few.

Don...can you clarify on whether or not guns can be used there near the campsite or can they be used in a remote point farther into the desert?

There is areas for shooting out there. I just know of the spot where RangerRob was explaining at the Halloween run. I myself haven't been there. Off of main street off of 78. Head down about a mile and take right I believe at the y when it becomes dirt and you will run into the rail road tracks. You shoot at the mountain obviously.

I told RangeRob to get on here in a little bit to further explain on where the exact spot for shooting is as he has been doing it for years.

Your directions are real close Don. The spot I shoot at is down Split Mountain Rd. You take Split Mountain south about 5 miles and take a left onto the dirt road next to the train tracks. Go down the dirt road about a mile (it becomes BLM land). I usually park next to the train track and shoot toward the mountain side (facing south). I've been shooting out there for years and have never been approached by a Ranger, but I am cautious and will put my 30 round mags away if I see a Ranger driving toward me.

Bring your AK's and AR's. I've put many rounds through my AR's out there without anyone bothering me.

This is exactly where we shot last trip out there - Got the directions from Don. When we got out there, there was at least 15 other groups lined up along the railroad tracks, and the Ranger slowly went from group to group. I got the BLM ticket it to prove it (Although it had nothing to do with guns)

Well bought some camping gear and I will be down there. I will bring a AR for some shooting. Please don't pick on my car (if I still have it, and it is still running) :)

Need to get directions there and not sure when I will be showing up as of right now.
