Don...can you clarify on whether or not guns can be used there near the campsite or can they be used in a remote point farther into the desert?
My buddy had one as well when asked he said it was limited to only hold ten, they quickly moved on. But like others have said there may be some more remote places to unload a few.
Your directions are real close Don. The spot I shoot at is down Split Mountain Rd. You take Split Mountain south about 5 miles and take a left onto the dirt road next to the train tracks. Go down the dirt road about a mile (it becomes BLM land). I usually park next to the train track and shoot toward the mountain side (facing south). I've been shooting out there for years and have never been approached by a Ranger, but I am cautious and will put my 30 round mags away if I see a Ranger driving toward me.
Bring your AK's and AR's. I've put many rounds through my AR's out there without anyone bothering me.
