Well, a base 2013 (ordered) SCAB would still be about $41,500 (at invoice) plus taxes and registration.

Welcome. As well built as these trucks are, unless it's been totally abused (like bent frame), I wouldn't have an issue buying a used truck. I would, however, opt for the 6.2 engine, not that the 5.4 is at all an issue, just bigger=better in these trucks even if it's only perception.
