OK, downloaded this vid to utube, its got the first 43 min of the fourth day Special Section 1. We got fast straight aways, jumps, twisty stuff, small villiages, kickers, bigger kickers, kickers that knocked us off the road LOL.

The power steering went out early in this stage so slow turns we a real bearcat. was really having a hard time turning the wheel when I needed it. Also the kicker that sent us into the bush/tree knocked the lower A arm back and the tire was rubbing hard against the firewall on sharp turns, you can hear it...plus it was not tracking quite right. But we pressed on.

Keith "Wiz" did a super job! loved racing with him. We had a blast!!

Lots more photos of the later parts of this section and the finish I want to get up. more to come!!

Video is private. Hurry, need more! lol

Day four Section one carries on without vid.

So we keep trucking along after the vid runs out, this is a 105 mile section..lots and lots of stuff.

Some where we take a big hit, big like bottom out all four at the same time thump kinda hit... The center GPS, the VHF, and the Intercom system all go out.

That's when Wiz started yelling real loud so I could hear him, I didn't let him know I could only hear half of it over the motor, if I got a little lost I would lift and "say what??" get it and go.

Now the power steering is completely toast...Wiz calls this 90 left up a steep as trail that on any other day I was say OK...I said, you sure?

We got up toward the top and the Chev Nova " Snortn Norton" was stopped with a buggy hung up in front of them. Some guys were out of the cars working on it. Wiz jumps out to help, they jump in and take off, Wiz does a quick dash back and jumps in and "starts" to get strapped up.

Then I heard the louded welp horn monster siren 10 feet behind me, I jumped out of my skin. So I get it in gear start our and hit a big bump on the left, tears the wheel out of my hands and we whip across the trail , I got hold of the wheel trying to straigten it out when we high center...three off the ground.

I dig for awhile to clear the rear diff so we can pull off down the hill. Trucks and cars kept coming past , we got tapped three times on their passes. Wiz gets the strap rigged. Some locals show up and help me dig and stack rocks under the tires.

One of the Guys in our class, Nick Baldwin stopped and pulled us off...Thanks Nick!! I think maybe Wiz laid down in front of him LOL

I hung a hard left going backwards and got out of that ditch. We pulled up the trail a ways and let Nick by, stashed our tow strap and was off again....all the kids got stickers!!

So now, we are back on trail after our little "high centered" adventure. It just blows me away how folks just come out of no where and help...this is a theme that will be repeated later.

We are up to speed again and whipping up a trail, oh how I wish the go pro was on for this one...and as we crest the hill , there is a guy wildly waving his arms in the middle of the trail and just behind him, facing us, is a race truck on its side. We lock them up and skid to a stop just in front of them. The guys says something and runs off down the trail to warn folks a tad sooner, which was a REAL good idea if he did not want to start seeing a multi car pileup.

We pull up just in front of the truck and back in next to him. Wiz whips out our tow strap and hooks on to the truck. I back down slow and pull it back on to its feet. The tow strap goes back in the rig, Wiz tells the dude " I hope it starts" and jumps is and off we go. What I did not know until much later was that he got a shot of the truck after we got it back on its feet.

Been sorting out all the vid and photos in the evening while Outlaw gives some love to the Raptor and the Support truck. Came across this good little clip. Its one of the transitions from a higher speed section to a deep rutted, and hard as a rock trail. I also pulled a snap shot of the Gauges on Wiz's side, Trans temp at around 160F, that big Setrab Cooler that Connor installed is doing its job, while our engine temp is looking very close to 250F, Gauge is RED, which means its gone past the user set high temp limit.

Already working on a plan to keep the engine cooler! We don't want to end up like the guy in the vid with a blown motor!

That's a cool old ford. It looks like late 70s model. 78 or 79 I'm guessing.

I agree, very cool old ford!! Its a 1969 F-100 with a 460 motor and a C-6 trans.
