Here is that radio at Amazon..

It is a 88 channel marine radio so yes it gets channel 72 so it is do able... and would work... Again low power will be an issue for hand helds as these only do 3 watts.. Bring extra batteries of you buy this one I don't think it is rechargeable... but I am guessing.....

It is still way better then nothing.....
