GEN 2 No Trailer battery charging

As someone else mentioned, you have to leave the key fob in the vehicle while running. I leave my key fob in one of the cup holders while the truck is in park, idling. I had a similar issue as all of the trailer lights and electronic brake controller working, but no 12v accessory power until I figured this out.

Try it with your headlights on. Not “auto” just “on”. Sometimes that worked for my travel trailer.

Ok my mystery has been solved. Big shout out to everyone thank you!! Truck needs key fob in truck, plug in trailer, with door open push brake to recognize trailer, close door...12 volt wire works, open door itll cut power until you close door again. Thanks again this was much needed!

Another note on this. My brother had his '19 Expedition to the dealer several times and they had no clue.

So I checked my '19 Raptor and it did the same as his and the OP's and my brother's '19 Expedition. So I used Forscan and disabled "Secure Idle" and then it works as long as the truck is running.

Which my '17 didn't have the secure idle enabled from the factory where my '19 did. And people that enabled it also have a varying throttle when in park at idle (on the '17-18's). My '19 with it enabled doesn't have a varying idle. Easy way to check, is leave the key fob outside the truck somewhere and see if you can take it out of park. If you can't, then secure idle is enabled.

Anyway, just thought I'd add a little more info here since I just ran across this thread.
