These units are not hundreds of $$ they are thousands of $$.
Nice and fun to have but quite low in my mod list.
Though, I'd like video at all speeds if that's possible with an add-on.

Yeah they aren't cheap. $2,500 for the FLIR, $700 for the XW module (I talked about above), and $500 for the COD module to integrate it. Plus then you've got to figure out how to mount and install it all.

Which that Hudway one that the OP posted will be interesting to see how it works. That one is about half the price.

Awesome! Well I’ll see you in a few days.

I’ve got one of these heads up displays on order (stupid Kickstarter campaign that’s a year behind!!!). It’s also what the OP is going to be running as well.

Hi all, sorry for late reply .. Pics will follow shortly with live footage video from the Nightvision Camera.
Until i got the Hudway Drive HUD (now promised for delivery in September) - i use this workaround:
Using my MS Surface Tablet for Navigation and GPX tracking etc. But i got a 10$ Framegrabber USB stick where i connect the camera to (needs an USB-A to USB-C adapter).
So basically the Video input of the Nightvision Camera becomes an "extra" Camera on the tablet and i use the standard Camera App. with full screen Video on the Tablet - where you also can
record Video and take photos with. The Tablet is on a special Holder by JOY Factory https://thejoyfactory.com/ The base fits into a Cupholder and its perfect.
Again will post Video footage etc soon in the weekend. On an side note @Swarfowrks The Winch mount is awesome !! Thanks for that!

I’ve been running one of the Flir PathfindIR 2’s for about a year and a half. It rocks. I have it integrated into the factory head unit.

I also have one of the hudway displays on order. They’re only a year behind schedule as you probably know. Ugh.

I should buy one of their thermal cameras like you bought to compare. I wonder what the refresh rate is. Guessing it’s lower than the Flir’s. I had to submit paperwork for a background check to homeland security to buy the Flir, I believe because of the 30fps. The animal and pedestrian detection on the Flir is where it’s at.

Just when I thought I had all my necessary and unnecessary mods planned out...

Can you get the camera to display heat sources with crosshairs instead of a box?

Asking for a friend.

Haha. I’m thinking that’s a negative and might also be why you have to fill out an application to the department of homeland security. At least for the FLIR one I had to.
