I'm still going strong, laughing all the way when a Gen 2 tries to show off, then that look they have when I blow the doors off them. LOL

The Gen II EcoBoost is an improved design over the Gen 1, and there are Gen 1s that are 10 years old with well over 200,000 miles and still running strong. The platform has proven itself in everything from performance applications to commercial use, yet you continue to discount it based on your own biased opinion.

Congrats on beating a stock Gen 2 with your heavily modified and supercharged Gen 1. Must really stroke your ego. Enjoy your rotted out cab corners on your “superior” Gen 1.

I just don't understand why people want to engage in Gen 1/Gen 2 pissing contests. I just like cool trucks. They're both cool trucks. Drive the one you like best. Who cares if someone else thinks a different one is best?

Wait, what? Rotted cab corners, I haven't looked at mine lately, are they an issue, asking seriously. Or are you just saying that because the gen 2 is aluminum, thanks.

What did the Gen one do? Oh yeah, finished 3rd place it's it's class. :lol:

I see too many problems plaguing the Gen 2 on this forum, I'll stick with the better 1. (pun intended)

When you base your determination of a vehicle off of forum posts, you really are grasping at straws. Gen 2’s have sold in much higher volumes than Gen 1’s and therefore there is a lot more forum activity for that model.

As far as the Baja 1000, the Gen 2 placed 3rd in the stock full class; your posts make it obvious that you have a severe inferiority complex. Here you are posting in the Gen 2 section trying to convince everyone that your Gen 1 is better while constantly bashing the Gen 2. It’s just plain sad.

It’s an issue that affects all 2014 and older F-150s; moisture and road salt/chemicals cause the cab corners to rot from the inside out. The only way to repair it is to cut out the old metal and replace it. The best way to prevent it is to keep your truck clean in winter, especially the underside.

Only when an undercoating was improperly applied closing holes and not allowing water to escape.
My truck has no rusting at the cab corners.

Not true. The issue still affects trucks that haven’t been under coated. It’s a common enough problem that the aftermarket has come up with replacement panels to resolve the issue. They rust from the inside out, so you unless you cut the truck open, you won’t know until the paint starts bubbling.
