Next-Gen Ford F-150 Raptor Will Get Supercharged 5.2L Predator V8

Funny how you run your mouth, and when you get called out for lying and twisting the facts around, suddenly “it’s just trucks”. “Don’t get so defensive“ says the Gen 1 fanboy bashing Gen 2’s in the Gen 2 forum because you’re insecure.

As far as modifications, there were no performance enhancing mods done to the Gen 2 aside from re-valving the shocks for the additional weight:

The Foutz Motorsports team only added a chromalloy steel safety cage, puncture-resistant fuel cell, racing seats and full race harness to meet SCORE rules. The factory-spec Raptor springs and Fox Racing shocks were adjusted to accommodate the added weight from the safety cage and fuel cell.

As a result of classification, the Raptor R was prepared for hardier Baja battle by SVT engineers along with some help from Ford Racing and Foutz Motorsports Inc. Multiple modifications were undertaken for it to keep up with the more powerful race-ready Class 8 trucks, with only the transmission, axles, brakes and frame remaining from the upcoming production model. A more powerful 500-hp raced-tuned 6.2L V-8 was placed under the hood to keep it in contention as well.

My gen2 got my gen1 beat on gas mileage and technology 9.2 mph at 90mph.

First day today of vacation since covid crap started . Didn't drive gen 1 much this summer. Needed stretch her legs going gun shopping today.

At least @FordTechOne posts pertinent facts which we all can read. Not so much for others....

I owned both, an original 2010 6.2L Gen 1 for 8 years and my current Gen 2 for 2.5 years. One is clearly better than the other in all aspects, except sound. I waited for a Gen 2 V8 for more than 2 years, but when it was clear Ford was not going to make one, I gladly upgraded my beloved Jennifer to a much better version of herself.

The Gen 1 is a good truck, I missed mine which is why I now have a Gen 2.

I guess I get the bashing but you also have to realize the original SVT Raptor MSRP'd for 10-15 grand less than the Gen 2. I assume the technology and added upgrades in materials brought about the increase. The SVT truck is good for the time it came out, the Gen 2 is naturally better.

You gotta remember $55k 10 years ago is pretty much equal to $67k in today’s money.
