My son and I went in on a 2018 and were going to "share" it as I am older and have a company provided truck for my DD. Well you can imagine how that went every time I needed it he was gone. So I picked up a nice 2012 loaded with $13,000 of suspension and mods for myself. Bought it Private party so no sales tax had to work out a couple of bugs but now it is good to go and I got a truck when I need it.

How did you skirt the sales tax? Most states require you to pay sales tax on a title transfer, and while you can get someone to agree to provide a receipt of a lower than sale amount, no sales tax at all is pretty uncommon.

Sounds like a nice truck though. And not at all surprising your son was "gone" when you wanted to drive the Raptor. I couldn't imagine sharing a vehicle like that with anyone (my wife included).

NV Law is that private party sales are not taxed. Used vehicles from dealerships have to pay the sales tax. Sharing the truck probably wasn't the best Idea I ever had.
