depends on what woofer. there are a very limited number of woofers that will fit there. a 10" woofer is going to be your best bet. the supercabs are very restricted to what woofer due to the height limit. the crewcabs can fit a slightly deeper speaker

a 12 will stick out from underneath. since the oem jack is under the rear seat, it takes up space. the best you can do is a 10" woofer under there. or 2.... or 3.... the 2 10" woofers i have in mine are plenty loud. i am using the audiomobile gts woofers

I'd like to keep as much space as possible, I think a nice 10" sub with a custom box in the OEM location should be more than enough for my setup

Another question that I had was if I decided to go with the dq61 I would only need to get the signal from the front tweets and the front door coax and leave the plug of the sub signal on dq61 disconnected? Is this the same with the jL ssi? I'm confused because I've read that only the signal from the front speakers are used, but I'm just wondering if on the device that plug is eliminated?

i only use the front signal for inputs. no matter what processor i used, anytime i added rear or sub signal, it diminished the sound.

Anyone with the Sony system ever consider having the SYNC system (APIM) reprogrammed from a similar truck without Sony sound and then grabbing the outputs direct from the radio? I would think this would product a much cleaner output as you are not grabbing the amplified and EQ adjusted outputs from the Sony amp?

the issue is the amplifier. from what i have heard, if you get signal direct from the head unit, you no longer have volume control from the oem radio. it is controlled from the amplifier. also, the amplifier decodes the nav voice. i have not tested this, but have heard from multiple people.
