First off, thank you to @svc for being so generous and even considering doing something like this. Just another example of just how awesome you guys are.

Now it's taken me quite a bit of time to decide if I even wanted to post in here, as I'm normally the type of person that doesn't put my personal life out on front street. The attached picture was taken by my late wife June 26 2014, incidentally the first time she ever drove it in it's natural habitat. Living literally minutes south of Barstow, we had a going thing that any time the weather was nice and I happened to be home from work without anything truly more pressing going on, we would jump in the truck and run out to Stoddard Valley to catch the sun set. At first she despised the truck and only relented on us purchasing one out her love for me, until she drove it that is. Now my wife was the type of driver that makes everyone else crazy, always doing 5 or so mph below the speed limit, but on that particular day, she was running 65 and had a smile from ear to ear.

Through the last 2 years, we've made some minor mods to make it "ours", but nothing super crazy as our funds went first to the kids, as well as saving for our first house. We've always been the conservative type, opting for a happy home instead of both of us working just to pay it all for child care. Sadly, that all came to an end just over 4 weeks ago when she was killed crossing a street by a (allegedly) speeding car... I still make the sunset drives when the opportunity is there, and it helps me feel a little bit closer to her and cope with the incredible emptiness I feel, but now it's solo or with the little ones.

I know I never post much on this forum, but I've always enjoyed the community that's here. Even now, just posting this, has helped to ease me some...

Thank you for putting up with my wall 'o text, you guys and gals are amazing!

Boomer,

As a husband and father of two little girls I cant even fathom what you and your family are going through right now. No bumper, no truck mod or anything else other than the incredible memories you have will hopefully bring peace and healing to you and your family. I truly am touched by your story and don't really see the point of continuing this contest any further.

It would be an honor to me and the rest of us at SVC to see one of our bumpers on you and your wife's truck. She will always be with you on your sunset drives, and those memories you have can never be replaced or purchased. Stay strong, remember the good days and continue on her legacy.

With all my heart, I truly am sorry for your loss and will say a prayer for you and your family.

Damn... Words cannot express how deeply moved and saddened to hear your story @Boomer12. I am so sorry for your loss. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. I know material possessions do not help with coping with the loss of a loved one, but I completely agree with Jarretts decision to end the contest and give the new bumper to you.

@svc Jarrett, I would like to help where I can with the donation of the bumper. Maybe a light bar or something, I don't know. I'll be in touch and maybe we can fiqure something out and get boomer set up good, he deserves a break.
