New Subwoofer Smell

Betcha the unit was compromised by moisture.

Something did it in lol. I never opened the box and it was still wrapped in plastic.

So I installed my add on subwoofer and amp according to Birdman's post.
Including:



Kicker 1200.1 Amp with gain and boost at 30%

Kicker Remote bass control knob

Bet it was waaaay overdriven. S10L7 handles 1200W peak. 600 RMS... That's in a sealed enclosure. In a ported/vented it's rated at 450W RMS.

Possible. I was using the 1200.1

look for a JL 13.5 shallow sub. It performs great!
