Before I bought my magnetic (the color I really wanted) I had a dealer with a Leadfoot tell me MSPR and he wasn't negotiating. He tried to justify it by saying it was a special color for 2018 only and it will hold its value better for it. I told him no problem, another dealer who is willing to negotiate on a '18 will earn my money. No sweat. I walked away. Showed up a week later with a new truck and told him he could have sold me his.

Seems to be a Ford dealership problem with their performance vehicles. Apples to oranges, but they are still fruit, the Focus RS and Shelby Mustangs are the same. Dealers are totally unwilling to negotiate and lose deals. Then again, I guess their floor plans can support the time if someone pays full price plus "market adjustment".

Why should he sell it to you if he can get more money from someone else?

If you were a dealer, would keep a truck on the lot for a few more weeks if it means putting several thousand more in your pocket? Or would you sell it at a discount to the first customer that comes by just to get rid of it?

I had to do a double take at the miles. A raptor is the perfect vehicle for road tripping the ALCAN.
This was the fifth time I've made that drive, and it was the most enjoyable trip.

Hellova first drive for your rap.

I did the trip once. Almost got mugged in one of those pull-off sleep areas in northern AK, bought fuel near Tok at ~11pm while still bright out and where I had to pay a bartender in a trailer house for the gas while getting hit on by a toothless woman, experienced multiple restaurants of unbussed tables and absent staff at ft nelson, cracked a windshield, saw a 'road construction next 46 miles' sign actually meant 46 miles black dirt, and beginning with Montana, experienced ~non-stop incredible scenery. Best road trip I've done to date.

Absolutely. The LF was bringing more money around here. Dealers I talked to made no excuses. Free market. Silly to fault them for that. I myself would get the color I wanted. Even if it was more. I have in the past settled for what I thought would "be ok", only to see what I really wanted and been disappointed I didn't purchase said vehicle. If color isn't a big deal, go for it.

I have all white cars/trucks, 11 of them. I’ve bought a few used cars in the past, and always bought the best car I could find....and if it wasn’t white, I ended up disappointed down the road, every single time...
Now if I can’t find the right car in that color, I wait....

My dealer had a Lightning Blue Raptor sitting on the lot. It had the exact options I wanted ( it also had stickers). I wanted Leadfoot. So I ordered the Leadfoot (without stickers) and waited 11 more weeks for a new truck. I don't regret it one bit. Buy the exact truck you want. If not, you will always have that little bit of regret. Especially when you see what you really wished you had bought initially drive by in the other lane.

I think I'd take the deal. Like already mentioned, you can always wrap it. Get the color you want and paint protection. When it comes to Raptors though, I prefer white or grey but I'd take any color but black.

Thanks for all the insight fellas', so I went with my gut, and found a LF Raptor at another dealership 200+ miles away (in Gainesville) for $5,000 off MSRP, and actually $200 below invoice. Loaded, just wished it had CF package, other than that its perfect!
