Hate when ppl make that comment about why Ford didn't put the V8 in the GT. It is so naive
Mmmmm OK....why didn’t they put it in the aviator? The navigator? The SHO? The MKS? The new Bronco? The TWO highest trim best selling ****’ing vehicle they ever made?

why don’t they utilize ONE single V8 in their luxury division?

why didn’t they put a sooped up blown version of the 5.2 voodoo in the GT? (Hint- cuz it’s a fragile POS & they have no confidence in it)

They make great boosted 4s/6s, very good turbo diesel V8s, & are in the top 5 for V8s...maybe, get over it. Ford has.

Jesus Christ it couldn’t be more obvious. The ONLY reason they keep making a V8 is to appease nostalgia driven mustang buyers & to not upset the apple cart when it comes to A record setting best selling vehicle like the F150....they haven’t dropped it from the lineup because it’s “that good”, they haven’t dropped it cuz it may drop overall F150 sales by 5-10% (maybe...)

I spend a lot of time considering this stuff....I’m in the business of selling the metal that ford (& others) use to make their drivetrains (among other things)

they (ford) have been requesting more higher strength cast AL Alloys for their engine divisions- moving away from A380 & more 383 & 319, and they’re using way more sand casting vs die cast. So that would lend me to believe they’re using higher compression, higher revving, sometimes thinner cylinder/block walls than usual- ie: boosted smaller displacement.

you know how many more blown up boosted 4/6 cyl test blocks over n/a V8 we get back from “runaround scrap” when ford is testing New designs? Well I can tell you the number is zero. We have gotten NONE - not even 1 load @ not when they were doing R&D on their new 7.2 gasser. My company is simply too far away & all the scrap generated from that R&D run was
Gobbled up in short order locally in MI. Why? Cuz they barely gave an F testing it & also KNEW it wouldn’t be utilized to any large degree.

I can tell you got some very interesting V8s from GM tho...DOHC smaller displacement w/ snails...Dunno if for some future caddy’s or Z06/ZR1 vette or Both.

I actually could guess a good bit about what Ford’s engine (should I say “powerplant”?) plans are for the future....but I shouldn’t/can’t....will tell ya FOR SURE they don’t involve much V8 platform lol

here’s a bunch of Ford wheels....before they’re wheels hahahahaha

I called it on being a hybrid months ago.

you and me both I was surprised @ how many leftover Ford V8 fanboys were left in Raptor world....TBH I thought the majority of gen 2 owners were/are worse: Zero knowledge non-truck guys who just want the "latest & greatest" & will inevitably delve into BMW-esque convos contemplating how F'n quiet the interior may or may not be OR whether or not they'll have to inevitably walnut blast their boosted engine a la BMW TSB land -NOPE - not the case, cuz ford makes very good high output low maintenance reliable cheaply made boosted 4s & 6s - and NOW hybrids.

The ONLY people who pine for Ford n/a V8's are those who do not have several hundred if not 1 million+ miles on the LS/LTxx platform OR who have yet to drive an LS w/ a heads/cam swap + headers hahhaaha - MOPAR & ironically Toyota are right there Ford? They put an EB motor in a 1/2 milly Ford GT - like I said, JESUS CHRIST WHAT MORE CONFIRMATION DO YOU NEED THAT FORD KNOWS THEIR V8s SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

What transmission issue did you have? My 2020 has a really bad clunk when downshifting.

Is it in all gears?
I used to have that bad downshifting and couldn't figure out what was the problem till I noticed the gear selector on my dash.I shifted up removed that gear selector from my dash and things went back to normal again.

It might not sort your problem but its good to know.

Here's more evidence for ya in the GM V8 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ford - besides the obvious answer to " how many restomods/rebuilds/restorations of classic/antique cars do you see w/ "ford crate motors" - quotes needed for the "ha ha ha ha ha" @ that statement, because only a money wasting ******* or fanboy would put a ford crate motor in a hotrod (unless its a ford....and still, more than 1/2 ford builds get LS motors) bit quadrupling down, if Ford V8s were worth a shit, they'd be able to successfully make a business case to start reproducing older platforms from the 87-02 era like GM - but of course they don't, cuz NOBODY wants em!!!!!! AGAIN - Ford is giving you the answers here, not me.

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-cu...s announced today the,built from 1987 to 2002.

I typically try to stay out of the v6 vs v8 arguments since they don’t really go anywhere. Most people have their minds made up and won’t change them.

I have had the gen 1 EcoBoost, I know people with the gen 2 ecoboost both F-150 and raptor and they are good engines.

I personally have a gen 1 with 6.2 and I like it. I’m not delusional on that it is the latest and greatest with the most power, but I enjoy it. It thus far has been reliable, has pretty good power, sounds good. Rounds out the whole experience for me, especially offroad.

So do I fall into the name calling category from your above posts?

JESUS - people must be drinking the same koolaid i see in politics these days - how do you NOT SEE that FORD is the one doing this. How bout this, you name me ONE manufacturer that doesn't include multiple V8's in their lineup for their high end vehicles & in particular luxury/performance!! Ford offers NONE ZERO NADA ZILCH in theirs - what else do you need to know??? BMW/Audi/Toyota/Nissan/Lexus/Infiniti ALL offer more "n/a & SC'd "merican V8s" than ******** FORD!!!!!! How does that not resonate w/ you guys or provide confirmation that their V8 time has come & gone???

delusional

I never said Ford wasn’t choosing this strategy. I actually never said you were incorrect either. Not koolaid drinking, just stated that I like both engines and think they serve as a good choice in various positions.

Also as a note I am not saying that the 6.2 should be back in the raptor and I am not saying that a GM V8 May or May not be better than a Ford V8.

Dodge/Ram/Jeep seems fond of the V-8’s.
-5.7L Hemi V-8
-6.4L Hemi V-8
-6.2L Supercharged Hellcat

Look, the EcoPoop in the Raptor is a great motor. I like my truck just fine. The power is great and so is the fuel economy. It’s just not a V-8.

Im not anti-V8, but the ONLY time you'd get me in a ford 1/2 ton is now w/ the dual port/DI injection EB. I have a blown vette that makes me pity Ford V8 crap. Now - as Ive said numerous times, ford puts the HO 3.5 in the Mustang? I'll buy one. no doubt, but with shitbird Ford V8 over "ahem" a GM 6.2 or mopar 5.7/6.4??? HAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHHAHAHA - no. would i buy the Ford oil guzzling shitastic 5.0 w/ less power than Toyota's V8 of the same displacement? ummm - no. So herein lies Ford's V8 dilemma & THEY unlike the fanboys - are 100000% aware of it
