Is it in all gears?
I used to have that bad downshifting and couldn't figure out what was the problem till I noticed the gear selector on my dash.I shifted up removed that gear selector from my dash and things went back to normal again.
It might not sort your problem but its good to know.
And a pamprin...
You mean "I'll be happy to sell you another truck since you fell for my sales pitch on the first one."
lol what dealership in the country wouldn't "help" me get into a new vehicle? Sorry sir you just bought that one you must wait at least two years between Raptor purchases said no dealer ever.
I agree...
Mmmmm OK....why didn’t they put it in the aviator? The navigator? The SHO? The MKS? The new Bronco? The TWO highest trim best selling ****’ing vehicle they ever made?
why don’t they utilize ONE single V8 in their luxury division?
why didn’t they put a sooped up blown version of the 5.2 voodoo in the GT? (Hint- cuz it’s a fragile POS & they have no confidence in it)
They make great boosted 4s/6s, very good turbo diesel V8s, & are in the top 5 for V8s...maybe, get over it. Ford has.
Jesus Christ it couldn’t be more obvious. The ONLY reason they keep making a V8 is to appease nostalgia driven mustang buyers & to not upset the apple cart when it comes to A record setting best selling vehicle like the F150....they haven’t dropped it from the lineup because it’s “that good”, they haven’t dropped it cuz it may drop overall F150 sales by 5-10% (maybe...)
I spend a lot of time considering this stuff....I’m in the business of selling the metal that ford (& others) use to make their drivetrains (among other things)
they (ford) have been requesting more higher strength cast AL Alloys for their engine divisions- moving away from A380 & more 383 & 319, and they’re using way more sand casting vs die cast. So that would lend me to believe they’re using higher compression, higher revving, sometimes thinner cylinder/block walls than usual- ie: boosted smaller displacement.
you know how many more blown up boosted 4/6 cyl test blocks over n/a V8 we get back from “runaround scrap” when ford is testing New designs? Well I can tell you the number is zero. We have gotten NONE - not even 1 load @ not when they were doing R&D on their new 7.2 gasser. My company is simply too far away & all the scrap generated from that R&D run was
Gobbled up in short order locally in MI. Why? Cuz they barely gave an F testing it & also KNEW it wouldn’t be utilized to any large degree.
I can tell you got some very interesting V8s from GM tho...DOHC smaller displacement w/ snails...Dunno if for some future caddy’s or Z06/ZR1 vette or Both.
I actually could guess a good bit about what Ford’s engine (should I say “powerplant”?) plans are for the future....but I shouldn’t/can’t....will tell ya FOR SURE they don’t involve much V8 platform lol
here’s a bunch of Ford wheels....before they’re wheels hahahahaha

What I really want to know is, how in the F did you get Hunter S Thompson to write that contrived, stream-of-consciousness word-salad for you at least 15 years before you knew you’d want to serve it?
You just pontificated a sum-total of F-All, wrapped in so much opinion-as-fact that @Truckasaurus is now frantically searching Amazon for your book.
You sell metals for a living. Congratufuckinglations. How exactly does that qualify you as an expert on Ford engineering, modern engine design, or anything other than... well... metal sales?
Dial back your opinionmeter to somewhere south of 11, and quit calling people delusional for thinking differently than you, and they might, just MIGHT, start valuing your opinion twice as much as the Ford Motor Company does.
Because they aren’t making V8s much are they? Damn you fanboys are dumb. I’ll put it Simply & bluntly again- if ford thought their V8s were the bees kneesA if they thought they could go toe to toe w/ the direct competition, if they thought they could get the most “bang for the buck” in terms of market draw/efficiency/power/reliability/longevity etc. by going w/ a V8 in high power and/or performance gasoline applications then they’d ******* be making em & putting em in every ******** thing like every other company who makes a V8 & has either a luxury division, a truck/SUV lineup, & pure performance vehicles- all the rest of the competition is either a) heavily relying on V8 platforms @ their top trim levels or b) at least putting a helluva lot more V8s in those vehicles than Ford does
this is so obvious it hurts
I’m going to refrain from mentioning again on this forum- full of guys who shelled out $70k+ for one of the most expensive & heralded performance vehicles they’ve ever made, named after a dinosaur no less - super alpha marketing, but yet what does it have under the hood?
what would it have under the hood if Toyota/Nissan/GMC/Chevy/RAM made one? How bout top tier SUVs? What do Range Rovers, Cayennes, X5s, Escalades, Q56s, Land cruisers, Sequioas, etc etc etc etc etc have under the hood?
you can come to your own conclusions
