I don’t run one on mine. I’m not a fan of drilling into the factory air inlet piping and creating a potential leak path for dust/dirt. They can also cause DTCs to set, as crankcase emissions requirements have become more strict, requiring the PCM to monitor the PCV system pressure closely with tight tolerances.
Im not going to over talk what @FordTechOne one has mentioned. He is very knowledgeable and I would listen to his advice and answers over most on this forum in regards to oem facts and info. You certainly do not need a catch can on this truck, as it has DFI and PFI. So yours valves get washed by the fuel system. However if you wanted extra protection to keep your “engine” cleaner, you can install a catch can. Most manufacturers now do not require you to drill into the intake and just loop through the current PCV system. If you use a quality system and install it correctly, you should not get codes. If your not mechanical or don’t know what to buy, then it maybe better to leave well enough alone.
