My Raptor has 2700 miles and is a 2019 built late in the year. It looks like new under the truck. Zero rust on the exhaust. Not sure if yours is normal or not.
See...i knew it..lol...I really do think it is excessive..but I just don't know how to remedy the situation, as the dealer is about +-200 miles away. Also not sure what they could do, short of removing the "surface" rust and spraying an undercoating on the effective parts. (this wouldn't work on the exhaust though - maybe replace the exhaust..but doubt the dealership will agree) I do have this rubberized coating coming (and a wire brush) to do just that. But it would very nice to have it on a lift to do so and my skills are suspect at best. lol

Can you guys let me know if this is acceptableView attachment 151306 View attachment 151307 View attachment 151308 View attachment 151309 for a new raptor. Less than 100 miles when purchased and built in 2/2020. Bought 9/2/2020

Either that truck sat on top of a lot of water or they went thin with the paint and coatings. I’d brush Ospho on it to neutralize that rust coating and then coat it heavily with fresh paint of your choice. Can be made like new with just a little work. As for the exhaust you can neutralize it still. But wouldn’t imagine you want to paint that.

Yo. Welcome! Glad to know another fellow FRF is in Hotlanta. You got that from Baxley? Wow. Quite a drive. Reach out to me on PM and I can help with questions on who to use for work. Some in ATL are too high priced. Again, welcome!

Wanted to give an update...the dealer i bought the truck from has stepped up..they came and got the truck on a flat bed (+-4 hours away) and has provided Ford with all the info needed in order to do a buy back. The trucks fate may be determined as early as 10/15/20. Come on #Ford due the right thing!

Based on the price on even used Raptors, the dealer may end up buying it back, change out a few parts and treat and paint the rust. Then turn around and sell it for several thousands more than you paid for it. Lol wouldn’t surprise me.

Anyway good luck. Maybe some day another Raptor will be in your future.

I have Magnetic and like the color. Transmission whine? Is at steady cruise? There was a TSB for this problem actually, if that’s it. Maybe you can describe it?

This gentleman maybe able to diagnose and see if it’s really a particular issue @FordTechOne

@dude1782 has a video of the same noise i am hearing (sent him a dm)....my ford dealer did tell me there was a TSB out..but i was under the assumption that it is a known issue and a fix is not available at this time or doesn't seem to be detrimental so nothing to do, however @Ford is keeping a watch on this issue..however now thinking about it..i should have gotten the TSB number..i think i was just relieved that is wasn't an issue...however would love to bend @FordTechOne ear. It is a whine coming from underneath and under the front of the truck..is seems to happen after the truck has warmed up and does change when the accelerator is pushed..but only up to a point..don't hear it when I am driving..kinda sounds like a steering pump going out when you turn the steering wheel when stopped..

Is your new truck a 2020? Some whine at idle or while driving is normal, as the 10R80 has an offset gear drive in the front support, which is unique to this transmission. If it is a high-pitched whine that occurs during light acceleration or coasting, there was a small window of build dates with a bearing issue; Ford released a TSB for dealers to resolve the issue. The affected build date range was 10/21/19 to 12/16/19.

Almost sounds like that TSB for the trans that affected some ‘20s. Don’t think it was anything to major. But I thought it could be addressed.
