I was told by the tech they were surprised that the 2015 trucks got this new transfer case. My understanding is that it is also a clutch system. They think the vibration may be the way the clutches are engaging, and it could be as simple as a software fix to stop the issue. I hope so. I do like the features of the Lariat, and I like the truck, just not the issues. This could be Ford's way of ironing out the bugs before the mighty new Raptor hits the streets. I am a Ford fan and think they will get this fixed.

The shock problem on the Lariat is perplexing, although many people who buy 4X4 trucks change out the shocks and other components. I do think Ford should have done more testing before calling the FX4 package an upgrade as the Ranchos just aren't safe on dirt roads (I had the dealer put the new KO2s on the truck before delivery as the Raptor runs the KO1s). My plan is to throw some monotube FOX shocks on the rear of the Lariat to see if that helps the stability issues. I hope so, my wife is not a happy camper.

It is a lighter redesigned case so, yes they should know...Unless of course they are waiting until the day before they release the truck to decide what components will go in them.....

The engineers already know what's going in the truck obviously... But I doubt the dealership techs have already received training on the 10 speed transmission and transfer case that'll be in the new raptor....

They know about the transfer case. And it was a Ford tech that told me they are the same. He had questions when I filed the complaint.

Ford has not released anything other than it's a new transfer case and a new 10 speed transmission coming out in the 2017 Raptor. So I personally don't think the transfer case in the 2015 F150 is the same as the yet to be released 2017 Raptor based on that. I guess we'll find out in a few months.

There may be some differences but I can't imagine they would design two completely different automatic transfer cases. Regardless, there's still plenty of time for them to work out the bugs since the 2017 Raptor is a ways off.

I agree, and this is a good way to get some bugs worked out before the new Raptor release. It is likely since this is a lighter transfer case they will be using it. Much like the 6.2L engine in the older Raptors, there may be a few changes they will make. But after spending 20 years in manufacturing, unless they are selling the new Raptor for $$$$$$$$$, it will share many of the same components with other models.

Well it will be the guinea pig for the 10 speed. That we know.
