Yes, we're at Riley. Looking for vendors close by to help me rock this truck out!

I'm looking at simple/relatively inexpensive mods first that change the look. I know he was looking at the vents above the fender flares (sorry, I'm SOOO not truck term savy) and mirror reflector replacements (blacked out, yet functional blinkers) for his old truck, so I'm sure that's something he would be interested in for this truck. I've seen the illuminated decals and vent (still don't know what they're called) replacements? I like the idea of red lights.

The fender vent lights are know as "illuminated svt side vents" if you google that you will see them

Welcome. There are a lot of Raptors in Kansas.
Talk to Jimmy at White star industries ( @WSI). He can help that raptor look good. First thing to do is to get the mid perch done. Local raptor owners or Jimmy should help you with this. Most Ford dealers don't know how to do it, but it's an easy job for a home mechanic.

Check out the gift buying thread and the mods under $100 thread. Both have good ideas.

One of my favorites is the tail gate EZ down. $35 or so on Amazon.

Donate to Avery and be entered into a raffle for an awesome prize for your Raptor.

Wow what a awesome gift and an awesome thing to come home to. Depending on how crazy you want to get I would start with some new rims, bed cover, exhaust, fog lights, vent lights would be cool. Getting really crazy you could do bumpers and light bars. There is a lot of good help on this site. If it's hard to find there is a page kn Facebook called raptor owners and those guys are good resources also.

Your husband is certainly a lucky man. I have a Black 2010 Raptor that I love... and I had it on order before they even came off of the production line. I also was one of the "plank owners" of this forum... which is, by the way... the very best in the world. Why do I mention all of that? To stress the fact that I have been around the Raptor community since the beginning... and I have seen ALL of the mods be born... and watched some fizzle out and prove to be a bad idea. The problem is that all of those failed mods leave a "hole" in your truck. And there are several mods that will void parts of your warranty. This is not to say you shouldn't modify his truck... there are scads out there that are very affordable and cool/worthwhile. The red lights in the "SVT" cutouts on the fender, for example. That is a great look, and there are many other colors you can choose from, and differing ways of activating them I.e. with the park lights, controlled by one of the 4 "upfitter" switches on the. console etc. It is also completely removable with out a trace should he decide he doesn't like it. And every man is different... modifications to a Raptor are not to be done without a lot of thought, In my opinion. One thing you could consider is to choose done of those easily reversible mods if you really want to mod it before her comes home - and present the rest of the money you set aside for mods and put it in the truck in an envelope with a big red bow on it. Get him an account on this forum and the guys and girls here will bend over backwards to help him decide what and how he wants to do. And I must say, that your gift is one of, if not THE best I have ever seen. If that it's indicative of the love in your marriage, you guys are in for a grand adventure. Having a Navy Wife for the last 32 years qualifies me to say that.. Lol
