Which bracket did you go with and where did you purchase them? And how is the mount attached? It's hard to tell in the picture how and what it's holding on to.
More bracket photos..... just remember, these brackets are made out of thin metal....They can be bent any which way you want.... to form any angle you want.... without too much effort especially if you have a bench vise...... I bent mine way back to achieve a very flush looking look. the thicker the metal doesn't mean a better bracket.... It just means that if you need to change the form or angle, you might be in for a fight. the metal with these brackets is thick enough to keep the light head steady and not shake going down the road.
You basically can't see the bracket as they are made with very tight tolerances to the actual light head footprint... they can do this b/c unlike some other manufacturers, these brackets are only to support/position the light head, not to waterproof or seal it. these, like some others, are totally encapsulated for any environment.
but like a lot of light heads, if a branch is big enough to move the mounting bracket, it's probably already tore up your light anyway. Lenses w/o covers or protectors are just not that tough. IMO. this is a 70 buck light head that is super small and throwing out awesome light. tonight's install is putting 2 light heads over my license plate and under my tailgate.... tight fit, but if I can make it work it will look awesome.
last night was the maiden voyage on this install and it didn't go so well. round 2 will require reshaping the 90 degree brackets by 1st straightening them completely out and then bending the 90 degree angle closer to the top of the light head to shave off 1/8 of an inch... I have already ground down the bolt heads to give more room.... and yes, I will be posting the installed rear facing ones later tonight if all goes well...
