A thought crossed my mind when I was looking into this on SVC's site - did you order the 'trim' with it? I can't really gauge what that is, I'd think maybe a piece covering the rear panel/outside of bumper connection area? It's not expensive, but not INexpensive when you're already spending that amount on a bumper - didn't know if you had any idea. Thanks again!

The trim is for the dovetail cut circled here…

I did order mine with it cause, IMO, it’s going to look odd with that circled area NOT lined up with the edge of the Mojave bumper.

I regret to update this topic and say that my KHC tailpipe kit did in fact MELT one of my trailer connections after a 6 hour, 400+ mile drive with one short break in between.

Now given I was driving between 80-90 the whole way with several uphills, that may have contributed to the extra heat.

I am sorry to hear that, but it sounds like a fun trip (?) ! What was your gas mileage at 85 uphill?! Holy moly. I hope you at least enjoyed the ride. I'm not completely unsurprised that it melted, but again, sorry to hear it. I wonder if there's anything that might've prevented that (speed and hills notwithstanding). For instance, the titanium heat wrap sometimes seen. Was it the exhaust gas that melted it, or the heat of the pipe? Thank you for keeping this alive and informed - it's this sort of thing that brings value.

Yeah the trip was great but don’t remind about the gas mileage lol. Truck was showing 12.2 and there was a lot of crosswind as well.

I’m pretty sure it was from the exhaust gas. Wrapping or covering the connection might help but I looked up the cost of replacing the connection and it’s only about $45 which is not too bad. The connectors inside look good though so might just be the cover that took the hit.

Hope so! That's good to hear at least. I've never liked the saying for some reason, but that's a direct translation to 'smiles per gallon' haha. Thanks again for updating, glad you enjoyed it!
