Ford has some nice colors, but I suspect that on the vast expanses of pickup sheet metal they will show too many defects. I can't think of any other reason that Raptor colors have been boring from day one.

Erroneous. Ford has a variety of good colors across the F-series lineup that you can't get on a Raptor.
