Can you comment on the backseat sitting? I am considering switching to a SCAB...

I know you said humans don't sit back there but could you make this one exception?;)

Thanks so much for your detail!

I did have a 6'3" human in the back and there is plenty of room. The front seat has enormous foot and leg room. The human in the front seat can move up quite a bit before even getting close to being squished. That leaves plenty of room in the back. I even had 3 humans and 2 dogs in the back at the same time. That was quite a bit of commotion....Everyone had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
I don't think you will have any problems. The door opening is generous.
The thing I love about the SCAB is the ability to stand in one place and toss stuff in the back. Close up and go.
No squeezing around a back door. I loved it before. Its even better now that the back door opens more than 90 degrees.
The flatter folding rear door comes in handy if someone parks super close and you need to move something in or out from the rear of the truck.

Now a friend of mine has a Mustang and you couldn't fit a banana between the back seat and the back of the front seat.

Back to the Raptor.
You do have to unbuckle your front seat belt to let the person in the back out. The seatbelts housing is on the pillar.
So if the back seat occupants are getting in and out all the time, and the front doesn't want to unbuckle, then the SCREW would be a better choice.

@4BIRDDOGS , is the interior lighting LED? I changed my 2011 out to LED and preferred that much more. Once again, great thread you have here.

What's your primary reason for considering a SCAB? Have you owned full size trucks in both SCAB and SCREW? How often will you have people back there?

I've owned a SCAB before and I wouldn't buy one again for my daily driver. If it was a second special purpose truck, like a work truck and I used a different daily driver truck, I'd consider it. That's just me.

I had an F-150 supercab, and it was nice. People fit back there fine, won't be super comfortable for big guys, but its ok. Other aspects made it very inconvenient. A few come to mind:
- Door can be quite a pain in tight parking spaces. Not an issue out in the country, but if you park in lots you might run into a problem.
- If someone parks next to you too close, you might not have enough room to open the driver door enough to open the suicide door so someone can get. You may have to back up first, then let them in.
- Similarly, if you park in too tight a spot, you might not be able to let someone out.
- Same problem is you store things in the back you frequently need to grab (tool box, gym bag, etc.). Its a pain to always open two doors to get at it and you need to make sure you've parked enough to open both doors pretty wide.
- Lets say you drive to pick up a third passenger, someone has to get out of their seatbelt and open their door to let a person in.
- I'm going to have two infant/child car seats back there, so no... just no. Not going to deal with suicide doors.
- I'm sure there were others I'm not remembering...

But hey, YMMV. Important to understand why your are considering it and what your driving factors are. If 95% of the time, no one sits there, you live in a more rural setting and/or never deal city parking, it'll work great.

Thanks for He input fellas.

I had a SCAB before and that was before I had kids. Now I have a 9 and 4 year old that I only get every other weekend. Have been wondering if I really need the SCREW.

Agree with Hal's comments. The suicide doors of the SCAB help, but with the option of a 4-door SCREW, you can't go wrong. Especially if you're hauling your kids. A better investment in the long run, imho.
