also, on the off chance a street queen does go offroad, the E range is by far the better choice. far less chance of punctures or sidewall cuts (goes for street driving too, but less of a chance)

Good excuse to go up to a 37" though, the 37x12.50x17 come in a D range

Ha...I DID see the 37s are in a D...again, BFG = Clueless here. D range is fine for all the off roading, etc...just makes so much more sense, but what the hell do I know ha ha.

It's not BFG driving that decision. They didn't skip D, they never made it and never planned to. Along comes Ford offering to buy 100,000 or so tires, as long you they are made to Ford specs. Since Ford wants a C range tire, BFG made it for them.

There's really no true need for a D or E range tire on a Raptor- the truck doesn't have GAWRs that require anything more than a C range tire. You can argue a D/E range tire is tougher, and it is, but you still don't technically need D or E range tires to use the truck to it's maximum payload capabilities.

These C range tires will only be available while the new Raptors are being built. 5 years from now- you won't be able to get them anymore.

I prefer the C range as it gives me the load rating needed and the best ride

Yea, I'm thinking about getting these since my truck is definitely a pavement princess. I have no need for the E tires. Aside from the better ride, the lighter tire should brake, steer and accelerate better as well. Maybe they should just call these KO2 Lites or maybe KOJen2s

I don't know, to have tires that could potentially not handle a panic maneuver of our 6,000 lbs. truck would scare me.
Don't forget the Gen2 is lighter up front by alot and a little in the back.

I want the speed rating, plus I run 38 psi in front and 35 psi in back.
Been running those tire pressures for 6 years never had issue even at 135+ mph.
May even be able to air down some more with the higher load rating.

Looks like the KOJen2s are available on Tirerack.

Only shown as 2 lbs lighter than the E range tire. KOJen2s are $25 cheaper per tire compare to the E range tire.

Speed rating is the same on both - S rated. 112 MPH.

Let me know, whoever splurges for the C Rated version how they corner, and slalom. I don't mean like on a C&D Road Test Slalom, but if you need to change lanes quick, etc.

I DO like the sidewall stiffness of an E, but the Ds were mint too, at least on my 14 Raptor...A little worried, that while Eric above pointed out the Truck and its GVWR don't exactly warrant a D or E, that the C will feel a little Mushy on the sidewalls...

I have noticed over the Years that a D or E rated Truck Tire, that's only speed rated at S-T, acts like a V or Z rated Car tire b/c of the stiffer sidewall handling wise...and I like that.

Just seems odd to me that with the D rated Gen 1 Tires working just fine, they would spec out to BFG to go up to E, and now down to C...SMH

I guess the only thing about these tires I wish were a tad better, was their traction in soft sand.

Still like em. 15k on them and no uneven spots/chunking, hell still look new. Even with hundreds of offroad miles across various terrains.

Running 35psi, does that not have the tmps tire warning on the dash all the time?
