And with that... Ill keep my current truck. The front end on that thing looks retarded. Only thing that would sway my opinion.... if it could fit 37's without needing new fenders.

The current gen has much smother/sleek lines... more race vehicle. The new one just reminds me of a beefed up work truck... like a Dodge 2500 or F250 with a 3" lift and bigger tires kinda look.

its still the same truck, its just 500lbs less with aluminum frame and V6 twin turbo. offroad i would think you want all the low end torque from V8 or Straight block. seems like the V6TT is for all out HP and top end. maybe of the rpm band of the turbos are from idle to 2k. 10 speed trans sounds cool, but im thinking weaker gears at the point also. i think once the truck is out and the interior products come up for sale, thats gonna be the ticket to mod out the current generation of trucks. i think ford did a great job making a truck for the street queen users.

Looking at the front end some more, it looks like a Taco. I love my current Raptor even more after today. But the new one is ok. Just liking the current one better so far.

Frame isn't aluminum. The current 3.5L Ecoboost makes like 90% of its torque at 1,700rpm all the way to 5,000rpm with the torque curve being just like a diesel. You're gonna have all the low end torque you could ever want it.

Ill still buy one too. Yes your right these new turbo v-6's hold their own. I just know that v8 can outperform the 6 if it wanted to. If this new truck is priced 70 grand and I bought mine for 46 grand then I have ALOT of excess money to make her wax that v6.
If these turbos are not going to hold up then the current 6.2 raptor can stay stock and outrun that new truck when a belt is blown off as out non turbo trucks don't have to worry about that.
I still want my v-8 sound. Sounds the best over the others.

Definitely; I was really hoping for the 6.2L still or maybe even a supercharged 5.OL, but if it delivers with the Eco then I will still be happy.

Sporty eh? Well, I got cute all wrapped up. Let's try sporty!

lol...yeah, didn't think that would go over very well...lol.

Do the TTV6 guys believe this engine can be counted on for long term (200k like) reliability? I trust my 6.2 for that.

As to the sound, personally I still miss the sound of old pushrod v8's. We can make our current v8's sound good but not great IMO. What about a v6? No matter how you slice it sound is part of the equation as is reliability.

Does anybody think the ecoboost will really get much better gas mileage the way we drive them.

I can attest to the performance of the Eco as I owned a couple of them; great power for sure but no way is it going to give better gas mileage if you use it like it's supposed to be used. And the V8s do so sound so much better too. The whole reliability issue is yet to prove out in my book but smaller displacement is where things are headed; I sure hope Ford knows what they're doing.

It's a brand thing. Ford took their Raptor brand and sacrificed it to the marketing Gods to double down on their Ecoboost bet.

It's a sad thing to see. At least the 2013s and 2014s can still be had.
