Curious to see if anyone’s pulled the trigger on SPDs downpipes for ‘24-‘25 Raptors?
I’m excited to see they’re out and the potential for more HP/TQ on our 24+ Raptors, but after watching some of their recent videos the sound from them doesn’t seem as good as the ‘21-‘23 version. It’s more raspy then deep…curious to see where everyone’s at on these. The spooling sound is awesome but I would hate to lose or drown out the great sound of the exhaust just for 20+ HP or be forced to then go aftermarket exhaust system like AWE switchback just to offset and make it sound good again.

Here’s the videos I’m comparing…

‘24-‘25 Downpipes

Could just be because they’re filming half inside the garage but it sounds like crap.

Here’s the ‘21-23 video

Pic for convo.

Well for one, the newer vehicle is in a garage shop with ****** acoustics. They also cold started it and rev’d the motor immediately. The old raptor was warm start and outdoors. My bet is that they sound about the same.

@ranger22 thats what I am hoping too, it just sounded rough and I messaged SPD to see if they had any outdoor videos with these new downpipes but not word back yet.

Wonder if @Nick@Apollo-Optics and his team have any snippets of these downpipes installed.

Totally different acoustics between the two as @ranger22 noted above.

The cats themselves are identical between the 21-23 trucks and the 24-25 trucks. The difference is that on the 24+ trucks, Ford is no longer using an exhaust manifold and the turbos are different so the attachment of the downpipes at the top is different. Acoustically though, there should not be much, if any difference when comparing sound and trucks equally.

@Relentles0ne We have not played with these yet. We did get a set for the 21-23 trucks to help demo for the original Gen 3 trucks, but we don't have a 24/25 Raptor in our fleet right now so we haven't tested them in person. However, we do have multiple customers who have placed their preorders with us here at Apollo.

I’m super interested in picking up a set of these for my 2024 but quite surprised by the lack of vids. I’ve only seen the two vids already posted in this thread so far. Would like to get a better idea of the actual sound.

@Subaruski I agree, I feel like a lot of these companies are taking their sweet time to get ‘24 mods out and developed and once they do there’s not a lot of fitment testing their doing therefore a lack of videos to show off the product. Which makes me hesitate to pull the trigger until I see some folks posting about them and showing them off.

Thank you @Nick@Apollo-Optics For confirming.

I think we will just have to wait and see until after those preorders go through on whether or not these downpipes are with it,

There are hardly videos of any Gen3s running SPD downpipes...

The truck has no muffler in two of the videos

I think a lot of companies are waiting to invest R&D for the newer trucks because they cannot be tuned. Companies cannot advertise the full benefit of their products without tuning capabilities. Just my opinion.

Part of it too is I think 24's are louder from the factory. My 2024 is noticeably louder than my 2023 was and has slightly different tone, I imagine some of that is attributed to the manifold design as mentioned above.
