so, of course the wife says i can go to this one.......reno...... she wants to go to the casino. im up for the prerun.

I was thinking meeting more so out of downtown Reno John AScuagas nugget towards Sparks.. Meeting early Saturday they have a huge outdoor lot...

You will never get a room at the Nugget Labor Day Weekend, the rib cook off is based there & Sparks is stuffed. Unless your going to the cookoff, stay out of Sparks-traffic is nuts, the place is insane.
Maybe the Grand Sierra, big lot, lots of room.

My neighbors go to the rib cook off every year and they have to book the hotel like a year out.

Well I wasnot going to stay at the nugget, just use the parking lot as a meeting area for the morning launch but can be moved to other lots... Fernly is just down the road so we could meet in a parking lot there also.. NV guy would need some help from you for scouting areas to meet for the prerun then we can setup staging area for the actual meet on Labor day weekend.. So I am looking for suggestions if you gotem....

Sparks is totally out as a meeting place over labor day- think of times square at new years.

Fernley has a couple of truck stops right off the freeway with lots of room, fuel & food before it'***** the dirt time. PM me your route thoughts & I will narrow things down.

My goals is to meet out near Fallon naval weapons station for me I know where Reno is and most do so I piked it kind of by default as a landmark. However the ultimate goal is out Hiway 50 the loneliest road in the US... You have long flat dirt roads that go for miles out that way. So we can really stretch the legs out on these Raptors.. I have been out there many times but going it alone you have a certain restraint and healthy fear for mother nature and being stranded where nobody is likely to find you for days or years.. So if Nv guy has an idea for a meet out there in a place I dont know, (please dont say salt wells).. There is a Casino in Fallon has a huge parking lot I will try to find the name... Or anything else that can be offered up, thanks... Out there in them parts it looks like moon scape its rough and wild and there are amazing things to see. (old towns etc at least whats left)... But if were going to see a lot of sights we have to drive with enthusiasim... There are lots of mineral springs old indian paintings in a cave old mines etc.... As I can pin down a pre-run date as time gets closer....

OOo-oh. If pre-run ends up being something other than the two weekends after the 4th, I may make it.
I was planning on coming back from the South Dakota run on 50. This will give me something to think about while doing so.
