I don't think there has been really any correlation between Scab vs. Screw mileage.

If you've ever had a fullsize truck before you should have no problem getting use to the size. If you've never had a truck i can't comment on that.

hey thank you for your service,an welcome!!! i can help you out as far as handling its size in every day life. I live in new york city, and on several occasions against me better judgment i have driven this beast into Manhattan. The only real issues i come across is moronic cab drivers who double park on a one way street, and parking. The parking thing is also more just Manhattan sucks for parking anything i just cave an park in a garage ild rather pay the money then come out to a busted up vehicle. Other then that i have no issues driving this thing into the city,Brooklyn, queens, or the Bronx when work takes me there. Its quite possibly the most fun you can have driving this thing every day, an im 6'2 220lbs this things beyond comfortable when sitting in lovely ny traffic. Also i have had my little brothers pitbull in the back several times i either just pick the rear seats up an lay a blanket down , or my brother has a hammock that we use. Several members started a thread about what to use to protect your leather from your pets there was some good stuff in there.

I have a SCREW and love it. Handles well on the trails and in the city (although I'm in Denver and not Manhattan lol). No clunking from my end. No problems on my end at all actually except the MAS going out after I took it above 14000 feet elevation and ran it hard lol. You'll love it. Jump on Randy's deal if you can. You'll have a nice truck and a friend out of the process.

i have a SCrew and love it! single with no kids that i know of, and the room is just amazing. i can throw all my groceries in the back with the seat up and have no worries. with the flat floor you can probaly throw a small matress back there and live in this thing its so huge! hehe

as far as MPG, i live in Chicago, not downtown, more like suburbs but with a Chicago adress, and im currently averaging 13.7mpg, and thats a little bit of a drop since i added the Roush exhaust and DMH cut-out. the new sound has me riding this thing harder than a 2am bar *****.

youll love this truck!! and if Randy can get you in one, i say go for it, ive bought 2 Raptors and sold 1 thru Randy and is the best guy to deal with period!

Welcome to the forum from retired Air Force civil engineer. i have a 2010 scab blue Flame. Love the truck and you will love it you buy one. if you are going to have some kids, the screw is for you and if the wife says go for it, you had better say yes dear and do it. there are some deals to be had out there but for a screw, you are going to be above 50K for a new one. there are some used ones out there but be careful what you buy. Good luck and how far are you in your career and what do you do. May have ran in to you sometime in my career.

You will be very happy with the room inside, just a hair smaller interior than a Super Duty crew cab. Drives like a car. And when its time to get up a go, it goes.

Raptor wife thanks I just had my wife read your post. I currently am a Air Traffic controller and been in for 8 years now.
Dave I wish I could keep them both but I am in no means rich either one or the other for me. Since i am also looking into buying my wife a Ford Edge.

Randy where is your shop located? And what do u have in for invatory at the moment?

Everyone thanks again for the replies. Are there any easy mods that up the MPG or is the Raptor stock at the best?

Thanks again for the quick replys. Everyday I want one even more.
Has anyone experienced a MPG difference between the Screw vs Scab?
How is handling the size of the truck over all in everyday life?

I have a 2011 Screw and i average 12.5 to 14 MPG, and that's mixed driving. I love my Screw, and it handles really well, it'll just take a little getting use to the width, but you'll catch on fast.

Good luck!

And i know where you are coming from regarding the MPG, but the 6.2 is a thirsty beast, expect no better then 15 MPG in a SCrew on the hwy, it is what it is. Oh, and the other advantage of the SCrew, the 36 gallon gas tank.
