My guy does a ton of the clear protection. But I’d have to get it perfectly swirled free if going that route - and that seems like it would be dang near impossible.

He probably can though if he's in the business. It's part of the job

They are easily buffed by a detailer, mine came out great. I did not get my covered though. I wish ford would have a different finish on these things. I do not like the gloss look for the raptor, does not fit the truck.

I think I’m gonna go the vinyl route. Anybody done this yet? Not necessarily going w/ the carbon fiber look or anything, I’d just ultimately like to have a look that’s not swirled all to hell, lol.

I have an '18 and mine were already showing swirling from careful hand washing and drying. I had XPEL Ultimate PPF applied to them when I had my front end and rocker panels done. Swirls that were already there can't be seen now and the XPEL is self-healing at the swirling level of scratches, so they have held up very well so far.

Used the method expressed here and moved three of my four pillars yesterday. Had to slit the holes on each one to move them where I wanted them but they are now flush w/ the top seal and are where I think they should be. Reused each one - didn’t even remove them from the door. Just unscrewed, popped the weak 3m tape loose and did my thing prior to putting them back on. Put each screw in and left it loose prior to applying some pressure and tightening the screws.

FYI, the screws are threaded into plastic so be extremely careful if attempting to adjust. You can’t go tight at all, just snug em up and they’re good.

Thanks again for the link! Knocked my problem right on out! Now to get em wrapped or something to rid myself of the swirls that these things have!
