How does the truck ride compared to stock springs?
When I changed springs on another truck, it rode rough as shit. Didn't want to make that mistake again. .....

they do ride a little firmer. by that i do not mean harsh. but feels better. more planted. nothing like the old days when you put thicker or higher lift springs and it would bounce alot. these springs really do feel nice. this and the rpg stage 3 really changed my truck. i love the ride. jack.

I think Beemerman said it best. Expansion joints on highways don't bounce the truck all over the place and the ride is all around better. It's not hard or stiff, it's just planted and confindent. The rear is finally able to keep up with the front and allow the overall performance of the truck to improve.

Thanks

This might be a stupid question but with the HD springs will this also increase ur towing capacity from 6000 lbs (scab) to what if anything at all? I would say yes due to the extra 400-800 lbs to make the same ride but this to me would equate to even more with a trailer. Do u know if national has a spec or recommendation for this?

Not stupid at all. However, I do believe RPG said that the payload is increased so I think it is most likely that the towing capacity is increased as well. But... all these aftermarket add-ons are at your own risk if you know what I mean.

The HD's will increase the payload from stock. I think the best person to get real world data from on this is Big J. He has been rocking the HD's for a while now, runs tons of payload, offloads, and tow's with it.

J, your personal thoughts?

Springs are 1 of many things to keep in mind when towing. A good load distributing hitch is good money spent. Sway bar will help with a longer/heavy trailer. Braking is one of the most important parts of towing. When your rollin 60 mph plus and all of a sudden YOU HAVE to STOP NOW! You will be glad you have braking power. Longer wheel base = better stability(high winds) short wheel base=squirley. Keep in mind stiffer rear springs but you still have a some what softer front suspension. Just a few things to think about
Sorry to derail thread Jarret. Now back to our original program.

Can I get National Springs with 16" of lift.

Hah! You heard about that, eh? Too funny.

{¥£¤€} is an expert when it comes to towing, so I won't even attempt to add to his comments. They're golden, as far as I'm concerned.

As for payload... you're right Jar, I have been rocking the HD springs for a while and you bet I carry a ton of stuff all the time. Here's how I roll daily:

I'm guessing that's around 400-500lbs of crap.

And then a couple weekends ago I had to load up my and a buddy's camping gear, food and beverages for 3 nights, and a small militia's worth of weapons and ammo. I'm not kidding; every square inch was filled in the cab, and back seat. And in the bed we had stuff piled so high I had to use straps to lock it all down. Our totally unofficial guestament at the payload was somewhere north of 2500lbs all told (my and his bodyweight included; don't forget to count that into your tally when considering payload).

And those springs took it all without even so much as a groan. Now, to be fair, I'm currently rocking RPG's Fox rear shocks as well, so keep that in mind, but my buddy must have said a half a dozen times how impressed he was with the ride given the terrain and load we were pulling.

I don't plan to run with THAT much weight often, but I was really glad to know that I could if I need too. Just another perk of upgrading to these springs.
