You can also spit on the nail and see if its leaking.... If there isn't any bubbles most of the time it didn't puncture the tire. Any ways your going to want it out of there so pull the nail and if you don't hear air leaking spit on it again and see if there is bubbles. If no bubbles you have no leak.

Just be sure that when you spit on it you call it a ***** and slap it.
